Envisioning soil, as a source of life and the cornerstone of our ecosystems
The Regenerative Farmers Lab presents
Radical Starch
New Chemistry: From Field to Workshop to Restaurant and Back
01
At HuisVeendam, the studio & workshop of Erik Slor, experiments have been conducted for years with biolaminates based on, among other things, potato starch. During this event, we will see how HuisVeendam is deeply rooted in Groningen’s traditions of arable farming and the starch industry. Together, we explore how this knowledge and these practices can shape the future of biobased building and living. In this event, we look at starch as a carrier of knowledge, history, and future potential. Starch connects fields with industry, labor with landscape, and food with construction.
RFL (Regenerative Farmers Lab) explores how soil vitality, plant health, and regional farming systems shape the materials and food of the future.
In the journey from field to workshop to restaurant and back, RFL brings the agricultural layer into focus.
By working with regenerative farmers, RFL investigates how farming practices influence not only food quality, but also the potential for biobased building materials.

A field lecture by Natoora’s Franco Fubini. With a seasonal diner from the field…
01
Join us for an inspiring evening with Franco Fubini, founder and CEO of Natoora, the high-end produce market reshaping the way we eat. Natoora’s regenerative farm in Cornwall, proves that sustainability, flavour and regenerative craftmanship can go hand in hand.
Fubini will share insights from his book In Search of the Perfect Peach Why flavour holds the answer to fixing our food system. Join in a conversation with Fubini and Goutte’s Reinier Hoon on how flavour is more then just taste – it’s a connection to farmers, a reflection of our environment and a crucial measure of our food system’s health.
